We are looking for a detail-oriented and resourceful individual with good analytical skills to join our accounting firm. The successful candidate will assist our team in providing tax services to our clients and be provided with good training opportunity in all areas of accounting.

Standard Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Reception, such as greeting client, answering phone calls, correspondences by email
  • Office admin duties:
    • manage faxes, mail & courier service
    • scan and file documents for proper record keeping
    • data entry and other office duties as required by team
  • Bookkeeping/bank reconciliation for small & medium-sized corporations
  • Personal tax returns for a varied client base
  • GST and WCB returns
  • T5, T4, and T3 slips and summary
  • Payroll, including payroll deductions and remittance for clients

Qualifications & Skills required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 office
  • Completion of accounting diploma, degree or equivalent
  • Previous public accounting firm and/or relevant accounting experience is preferred
  • Good knowledge and experience of Careware, Sage, Quickbooks, Cantax etc. is an asset
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good interpersonal skills in servicing clients
  • Works well as a team player
  • Ability to work on multiple engagements independently, meet deadlines, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound decision making and professional judgement
  • Eagerness to learn and willing to work overtime during tax season
